Text from Library Exhibition:

Okay seriously these cow paintings crack me up. They also have lots of significance in my process of painting this year.

There are three main points to be noted: 1) They are painted from the exact same photograph, but look like two different cows. As a matter of fact, Elisha Davies, just named them "Claude" and "Leroy". So Claude and Leroy they now are. 2) They are anatomically INCORRECT. Cows' eyes are on the side of their heads. Their eyes do not look forward. 3) These are the very first paintings I painted Left and Right handed. Hence the process began for "Learning Lefty".

CONCLUSION: Next year's learning process will most likely include "Painting From Life" There are plenty of cows around and will be much easier to figure out where the eyes go!
